HOUSE A – MÁZHAUS (GREAT HALL)

The two-floor cellar is being cleaned out.
It is being cleaned out after centuries of the storage of cola, wood, paper, coal dust...
Suddenly the floor collapses beneath us.
The collapsed floor reveals one stone step then further steps.
A small hole opens up beneath the steps.
Can it be entered?
Does it lead to somewhere?
We are lying on a pile of soil with a torch tied with string to a broom.
A surface of water glistens in the dark space.

The water is crystal clear...how many centuries has it been here???
Together with conservationists and archaeologists once we had removed 15-20 tons of mud, we discover in gneiss hand carved catacombs, connecting corridors and a cistern.

Everything is linked to the Slavonice catacomb complex which apparently goes as far as the Church of the “Holy Ghost.”
We have not found any silver coins.
We have found a golden treasure. An architectural treasure.
Sit and relax in the basement with a constant temperature and humidity over a glass of good wine.
